Continuing from part 1, after your device show up in zabbix host page, next is to activate discovery feature.
Still in configuration tab , go to discovery tab
Note : you need to activate discovery feature, it is mandatory in order to get unique ID from network interface device on juniper. this unique ID will be use in to create network map i will discuss later on separate post |
and then click “create discovery rule”
Fill mandatory data ask by zabbix, and in IP range, insert you LAN ip address in range. in “Checks” Add HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP ping, and zabbix agent with key “system.uname”. Leave the rest to default and then click “Add”
After that, let zabbix discovery scan your network for device availability and after that you can add graphic for monitoring in the Dashboard.
Now, go to Monitoring tab and select Dashboard
Click “Edit Dashboard”
Click “Add Widget” and select
On the type dropdown, Select graph. After that, on data set i need to add another data set because i want to see in and out traffic.
on “host pattern” click select. and look for juniper srx you just added in the first part of the tutorial.
On the “item pattern” , look for interface that handle the internet traffic , first we need to add for interface that handle receive data and the second data set is for transmiting/sending data to internet.
Change the data set color , so you won’t be confuse which data is in or out
and Done!
